This blog contains different literary projects. Here’s an overview:
My 21. Century Fever Dream
… is a text mostly written between 2022 and 2024. It works as a performative diary / autofictional ‘report’ of the time in my life when I started to transition, though I don’t consider it being solely a transition-narrative. Rather it encompasses a whole spectrum of feelings, reflections etc. I went through during the main period of working on this text, including questions and experiences around love, addiction, activism, depression, sexuality – and the ever present trials and tribulations of changing one’s gender. It is written in German and English, oftentimes freely switching between both languages.
Chicago Borderline Therapy
… came together mostly during my time in Chicago 2024-25. It is an autotheoretical work, meaning a way of doing theory from the first perspective, written from inside one’s own life. It is a cultural investigation, a queer travel narrative, the story of studying abroad, but also a personal investigation of the meaning of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), with which I’ve been diagnosed only several months before I went to the U.S. The text is written completely in English.
Academic Works
… is a compendium of academic works I’ve written over time, especially in the fields of comparative literary-, cultural-, gender- and queer-studies. Most of these texts are written in German with English citations.
Others
Every text that is not (or not yet) part of a bigger literary project but rather a stand-alone blog entry, may it be poem, essay, hybrid etc.
